Streamline by Jennifer Lane Launch Party! Excerpt + Giveaway!

Why hello readers! You are seeing this post because it's Streamline's Launch Party!

Streamline by Jennifer Lane
March 27 2012, Omnific Publishing

Seems like Leo Scott has it all: looks, brains, and athletic talent. He’s captain of his high school swim team with a bright future in college and beyond. But Leo has secrets. His mother’s crippling car accident has devastated his family and left Leo to deal with his father’s abuse, battered and alone.

Leo’s girlfriend Audrey Rose is poised for her own share of success. As one of Florida’s top high school swimmers, Audrey dreams of college swimming stardom. But there’s an obstacle to her glorious rise to the top. Her number-one supporter--her father--is in prison for murder.

Part murder mystery, part tale of young love in a military family, this gripping story takes readers on a journey from Pensacola to Annapolis. Leo and Audrey must band together to rise above the adversity they encounter and find their true selves in the process. When everything’s on the line . . . streamline.

Check out the excerpt below and tell me what you think! I can tell it's going to be awesome. And that is one gorgeous cover! I've always been a fan of underwater shots and this one is a perfect example of how beautiful it is!

Leo broke the silence. “Thanks for bringing me notes from class today.”
Audrey nodded. “No problem. We have a chem test on Wednesday. Think you’ll be ready for it?”
“Oh, probably not.” Leo sighed. “School’s the least of my worries right now.”
“C’mon, who’ll compete with me for class rank? We’re still gunning to take over the valedictorian spot, remember?”
Leo put his arm around her as they continued their easy pace. “I love your competitive fire, Audrey. You’re an inspiration—to the whole team, really.” He squeezed her shoulder. “I’m glad at least one of us is having a good senior year.”
“Leo, your year isn’t over yet,” Audrey said, her voice filled with that fire. “You’re so freaking smart you’ll probably ace the test without studying, and it’s too early to count you out for swimming. The state meet in March is still more than a month away. Cut the pity party, already.”
He stopped walking and looked at her. “What’s that—tough love?”
“Yeah. I’m still mad at you.”
